The National- Cliff Notes Version Part 1
Attendance- Final numbers are not in, but, even a smaller venue than last year could not hide the often spars crowd. However, the autograph pavilion seemed routinely crowded as Tristar delivered another impressive lineup of guests. There were obvious organizational issues as a result of the more confined space that made locating the various lines, attendees needed to queue up in, less distinct and instead melding into a hodge-podge of humanity. By mid-day Sunday the crowd was pretty light. A scrimmage by the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday surely drew some potential weekend attendees as well.
The 31st National Sports Collectors Convention Weekend
Day 3 of The National was Card Corner Club's first day attending The Hobby's largest annual event. The day was spent reconnecting with old friends, associates and meeting new ones. We have HD video interview segments coming from several well known Industry insiders including Beckett Media's Tracy Hackler (Editor in Chief), Panini's Scott Prusha (Marketing Manager), Topps' Michael Mader (Director of Social Media) as well as a unique perspective on Topps' first ever, panel discussion, with collector and blogger, Marie from the popular hobby blog, A Cardboard Problem.
Be sure to follow some of the action live from the floor tomorrow by following myself, Rob Bertrand and Russ Cohen via our Twitter accounts; http://twitter.com/votc and http://twitter.com/sportsology.
Several new products arrived just in time for The National including, Panini Court Kings and Crown Royal, Creative Cardboard Concepts' Famous Fabrics Second Edition, and Tristar's Obay "History of the Game". Look for video highlights and reviews coming for these products soon.
