You get a nice glossy black box with two small boxes inside and when you open both of them you will get four cards, that’s it, so for $230 dollars, this product has to deliver a certain amount right on the spot and the rest has to be cards that can increase in value in the future.
With a high-end product like this I hope to get a few cards that have a wow factor. The elegant styling of these cards is second to none and getting silver or gold autographs on a black surface has the right stuff for sure. The first card that I pulled was amazing. It was a “Pride of a Nation” manufactured patch auto of Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward. His gold auto is sharp and the card is numbered to just 35! He was a former Conn Smythe winner and he’s still one of the best young netminders in the NHL.
My next card was a total dud. It was a rookie card of Canes prospect Jakub Petruzalek. Lets examine this card. He played two NHL games last year after the Rangers drafted him back in 2004! How does he make a set like this? He’s now in the Finnish Elite League and I would have made this guy’s card in a less expensive set.

Ok my third card better be good or my box is in trouble. Well I got a jersey quad card of Martin Brodeur’s uniform (these come in autographed versions as well). It’s a great card, but it’s all white, I would have hoped for some additional colors, but hey this netminder is the best of all-time and it’s numbered to just 99.

Ok I’m down to my last card and I need something pretty great with some room to appreciate over time….and I got it. I got an autographed rookie letterman card of Caps goaltender Michal Neuvirth. I’ve had a chance to see him play quite a few times and he’s a fantastic goalie at the age of 21! He’s ahead of the curve but the Caps have a stockpile between the pipes so he is patiently waiting his turn. The letter is signed in silver and it’s numbered to just 499. This card has a chance to be a big one in the next year or two.
Collector's will be looking for hard signed game-ticket cards as well as 6-on-6, 12-swatch gate cards. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. I felt like this release gave me what I needed for today and for the future. I got some very memorable cards and three of them are sure to increase in the future. I felt like this was a solid product and it would make a great holiday gift!
