Regarding Topps Online "Giveaway" Will You Be Paying To Have:

The Bus, Butkus, an Obnoxious Orange Bucs Jersey and T.D. Tony Lead McFarlane's Legends Six

The NFL season is just about ready to kickoff with a rematch of the 2009 NFC Championship game between the Saints and the Vikings. It seems like a perfect opportunity to discuss the latest NFL releases from McFarlane Toys. They have a slew of figures hitting stores including Legends 6, NFL SportsPicks 22 & 23 and NFL Playmakers series 1.

Today I’ll cover the Legends series and if you listen to Card Corner Club Radio, you could win one of these awesome figures!

The Legends series includes some explosive players such as Tony Dorsett, Marcus Allen, Dick Butkus, John Riggins, Steve Young, Randall Cunningham, Jerome Bettis, Warren Moon & Phil Simms. Their cost varies from store to store, but you can expect to pay between $12 and $15 in your local big box store for all the figures and definitely a little more on the eBay auction block for the chase variants.

Topps 206 is a Head Scratcher

I was very excited to review this set. I own a beautiful Piedmont card from the original set and I was hoping to get a few memorable cards out of this new release that’s an homage to the original set. But the more I examined the cards the more issues I found which dialed down a lot of the glee I thought that I would have.

If I added up a list of my likes and dislikes I think the dislikes would have the edge. There are some “QC” issues but in this day and age should a set have so many?

This set has a lot of cards with bad centering. I love the Babe Ruth Piedmont that I pulled but the centering is off and that put a damper on the card. Two other photos in this set are horrific.
